Illegal Immigration Again

I took a couple of days off from political posting here, just burned out. The two things that are on my mind now are immigration and Iran.

The big story today is the raiding of companies that have hired illegals and citing the owners of the company.

Smoke and Mirrors.

All of a sudden the Administration has awakened to the what the population of the country thinks about illegals (like it was a secret, 85% against) and starts to raid businesses and citing them for breaking the law.

This is a bunch of political posturing by Bush and nothing is going to come of it in the long run. Nothing is going g to happen till it gets to court, in about two years, then it will be dismissed or plead down to a negligable fine. In the meantime it looks like they are actually getting serious about the problem.

The only group that is getting serious about the borders is the Minutemen. They are willing to start building a real fence on the border to stem the tide. To get the info on this project and to donate to the project go to Minuteman Border Fence Project

For more on how illegal immigrant hiring has been handled go to Michelle Maklin. read the numbers and weep.

The only reason the crack down came at all was because of the pressure being put on the Feds. I say keep the pressure on..election is coming up and both the donks and GOP know they are in trouble over immigration and are going to have to do something the public will buy off on. Hitting the emplorers is probably the best way to do it--no jobs= no reason for them to be here

I agree that businesses should be fined, if they knowingly hire illegals. If you hire someone, and they have what appear to be a valid SS Card and DL, then the company shouldn't be held responcible.

But, if you read Malkin's post, you saw that the Feds have their heads in the sand, they just don't want to see or know how many illegals are here.
