Overwhelmed or just burned out. You pick. I just couldn't bring myself to post for the last few months. I think I'm over that now. The country, right this moment is in the middle of tearing itself apart over the next Republican nominee for president.
I, being a Non-Romney have been racking my self senseless trying to figure out who to support over the last month. I have arrived at no conclusion after Iowa, and New Hampshire outside of not voting for Luap Nor (that's Ron Paul for those outside the Empire), but I'd vote for him over Obama.
I'm coming back, so give me a day and I'll start posting again.

Dear Mr. President
You are wasting my time.
The economy is in the tank (0 jobs created...or saved this month)and I was looking forward to your speech on creating much needed jobs...as soon as you finished your vacation.
Now that you have returned I am told that your speech will offer NO specifics, just an overview of what you think should be addressed to improve the job market.
We have heard this speech 5,632 times over the last three years and frankly it bores the hell out of me. Nothing but generalizations about "Green Jobs" ($535 million stimulus to Solyndra and still goes bankrupt), getting banks to loosen up credit to people that can't afford to repay the loan (my house lost another 1.5% in value this month due to foreclosures)and in typical Democratic logic, promising to reduce regulations that hinder companies from committing to new hires (enacting 5 job killing regs then delaying the implementation of 2 of them).
First you request to address a joint session of congress on the day the GOP debate is scheduled that includes the newest candidate that is racing up the polls (I'm sure you weren't even aware he threw his hat in the ring being you were so focused on creating jobs)which was rightly turned down, but you will accept doing it one day later...and you'll start really early so as not to interfere with the start of the premier MNF game.
If the conflict had arisen, I would have watched the debate, and if you haven't finished by kickoff, I'm switching to the game.

How To Run Things
Whoa! A Governor that isn't there digging out cars and running around delivering diapers to snowbound people because the damn people who were hired to do the job aren’t doing it?
The next Election is still a ways off (we just finished the last one), and I probably do not agree with Christie on some things, but this a politician who seems to know how to set up a system that works and that is a rare thing nowadays. No bs. No excuses. You want a reason for his decision, he tells you straight.
I’m not impressed with most of the “front runners” so far, they all look like McCain Lite to me. If he decides to run, I’m willing to take a close look. If he doesn’t commit to run…maybe…maybe we can draft him.

The More Things Change.....
Bathroom Books - My library of magazines and books that sit in the bathroom to occupy 10 minutes that would be wasted. One of them is "Let's Be Heard" by Bob Grant. The lead page to the third section has this:

WHOSE GOVERNMENT IS THIS, ANYWAY?
The career politicians and bureaucrats, along with the pundits of the left, are currently wailing and keening over what the depict as dangerous "antigovernment" sentiment at loose in the land, but they're way off base. Most people believe strongly in our form of government. We just don't like how it has been perverted and contorted out of shape over the past few decades.
Our dissatisfaction has two main, related causes.
First, government does too many things we don't want it to do. In fact, the general drift of government activism has been to do things that help small minorities and special interests at the expense of the majority.
Second, every time the government does anything, it ends up costing us too much money. The costs nearly always outweigh the benefits.
In other words, the people who pay for government are the people whom government seems least interested in serving. You could even say that we pay government to do things that damage us. But we're not angry at government--just at some of the bozos who run it.
This was written in 1996, but sounds like it could have been penned yesterday.

Once again, we’re at that time of year when everyone examines the year that was with their clever lists, and wry observations. being neither clever or wry, I’ll simply point out where we weren’t a year ago, before the Dawn of the Age of the HopeyChangeyness (now with Skittles-crapping unicorns.)
A year ago, the government wasn’t the owner of two previously privately held auto companies, the largest insurer in the nation, or a large mortgage bank.
A year ago, our President wasn’t buddy-buddy with Chavez or Castro.
A year ago, we didn’t have a tax-cheat as Treasury Secretary.
A year ago, we didn’t have an Executive Order authorizing the immigration and placement of thousands of Palestinians in the U.S.
A year ago, U.S. taxpayers weren’t funding and facilitating abortions in other countries.
A year ago, five percent fewer federal employees made over $100,000.00 a year. It must be nice to get a raise in the worst recession in my memory…especially when you already have the job security of a federal employee.
A year ago, we had a President who wasn’t on record as thinking that the Constitution is “fundamentally flawed”.
A year ago, we had a President who did not bow deeply to the Saudi King and the Japanese Emperor.
A year ago, we had a President who did not avoid the Senate’s advise and consent role by appointing czars in places where they had never been before.
A year ago, we had a President who did not go out of his way to insult average Americans by casting aspersions on their values and the values of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
A year ago, we did not have a Supreme Court Justice who completely and utterly disqualified themselves before appointment with repeated statements calling their integrity and impartiality into question.
A year ago, we did not have government officials threatening private investors who were trying to protect their legal rights in bankruptcy.
A year ago, we did not have a presidentially appointed self-admitted Communist in government.
A year ago, a government official would not have dreamt of quoting Mao in public as a favorite philosopher.
A year ago, our elected representatives would not have dared to ask constituents for ID before answering their questions, or used union goons and police to silence and remove constituents from public meetings.
A year ago, the conventional wisdom would have laughed at the notion that we need hundreds of billions of dollars in stimulus spending that stimulates nothing in order to turn the rising tide of unemployment.
A year ago, the government did not deign to set compensation levels for employees of privately held companies.
A year ago, the idea of government health care for all was the punchline of a Hillary Clinton joke.
A year ago, we didn’t have a President who has informed a whole sector of the energy industry that he wants to put them out of business.
A year ago, the EPA was not threatening to regulate carbon dioxide emissions if Congress doesn’t.
A year ago, INTERPOL could not operate on American soil without regard to the American Constitution and American due process.
A year ago, we didn’t have an attorney general who believed it was appropriate or necessary to try foreign terrorists in Article III courts.
A year ago, we had a President and administration that recognized that we were already in a war on terrorism, because the terrorists had already declared war on us.
A year ago, a statement to the nation about a terrorist act committed against Americans by the President was a duty, and not an annoyance.
A year ago, carbon dioxide was good because it helps plants grow, and not a pollutant requiring taxes by Congress that will be paid by energy consumers.
A year ago, in was understood that the government cannot force me to buy a government-approved health care plan with the threat of exorbitant fines and/or jail time.
A year ago, it wasn’t the priority of one political party to funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars to a group of community activists that have engaged in voter fraud and other criminal enterprises…time and again.
A year ago, the government didn’t fire watchdogs who caught influential friends of the government with their sticky fingers in the government till.
A year ago, we had a President and Leader of the Free World who didn’t sit on his hands and “bear witness” to the brutal repression and murder of people resisting a totalitarian regime that is determined to destabilize the region it is in.
A year ago, we had a President who did not support a leader attempting a coup by vilifying the people who lawfully prevented it.
A year ago, we did not face a government that grows fat and belligerent on our tax dollar, while constantly threatening to take more of our money and freedom from us.
A year ago, we didn’t have a President that accused our soldiers of perpetrating war crimes for political gain, or declared police guilty of acting stupidly while admitting in the same breath that he didn’t have all the facts.
A year ago, dissent was the highest form of patriotism; now it’s racist!

Bill Whittle and Sarah Palin
From the first essay that I read from Bill Whittle, an essay called "Honor", many years ago, I've envied this man's ability to put into words what I knew in my heart.
The Sarah Palin "controversy" has been sticking like a trout bone in my throat since she announced that she was stepping down as Governor. I wanted to write about it, but getting all the thoughts into a few hundred words just wouldn't come to me.

About Face
I don't know if Obambi has whiplash yet, but I can say that his rapid 180's have caused a major pain in my neck.
I've never trusted what any politician has said, but My G-d!!! In just the first 100 days of Obama's term, I'm having a hard time remembering any promise he made during his campaign that he hasn't reversed. (Well he did get his kids a dog)
IMMEDIATE withdrawal of troops "occupying" Iraq...that now turns out to be 18 months...the same time frame that Bush had.
Signing an order on his second day in office for the closing of Gitmo, then asking for the funds to do it and having no plan for how to carry it out. No idea of what they are going to do with the "poor innocent farmers that just got swept up on the battlefield and aren't so dangerous". Seems no one wants them in their backyard. Not ever the Euroweenies that were bitching at us about holding them.
As said by one of our allies: "If they are not so dangerous, you keep them."
NAFTA: He was going to "HAMMER" out a new treaty...now, that was "overheated and amplified rhetoric".
Electronic Surveillance: He was a agin it, now he's for it.
Lobbyists: There will be NO lobbyists in his administration...except for those lobbyists that are soooo damn smart we can't do without them.

I'm born and raised in SoCal...O.K.? When my Heater/AC works, I run it at a temperature that just keeps the house tolerable. Right at that level where you wonder if you should put on a sweatshirt or not during the winter, or all the windows are open and there is no breeze, so seal up and get the house down to where you aren't just sitting on the couch sweating, say mid 80's in the summer. I pay for it with the wages from MY job. I worked for it and I'm not asking the Gov't to subsidize my utility bill. If it's too expensive, I'll put on the sweatshirt or shed clothing to compensate.
You don't want me sitting naked on the front porch with a beer in my left hand and a hand fan in my right, but I'm at that point in life that I will. Neighbors be damned.
On and on it goes.
On one hand I would like to beleive that Obamabi's maturing into the position, but I really fear we have a President that is a complete liar that will say anything to a particular group now and the opposite two hours later to another group. It's either that or he could was so incredibly naive while running for the office about how the world operated that we'll get four years of a man that has no stand, no plan and no goal other than having held the office.
Quit a while ago I just thought that his eligibility for being President was just an interesting sidetrack, but now I'm wondering. If he's willing to lie about so many things, perhaps he's lying about that. He's spent an awful lot of money on lawyers fighting off the release of his Birth Certificate and College Admission records. Something that would settle that "tout suite".

There Are Lies, Then There Are Statistics
Last Tuesday they had the Primaries for the City of Los Angeles. On the Monday preceding, the Mayor (former gang member and 4 time failure at passing the State Bar) Villagiarosa, along with his flunky Chief of Police Bratton, held a press conference to announce that under their leadership that the LAPD had been brought up to just 150 short of the promised 10,000 police officers.
It wasn't until the following Thursday that someone asked who many more cops were on the street?
Turns out that yes, they've got a whole shitload of new cops, but being they've been laying off the civilian workers, the new "cops" are replacing them at the desk jobs with a net gain of ZERO cops on patrol.
G-d Damn lying politicians!! Villagairosa is already called the "11% Mayor" because that is amount of time he devotes to running this disaster of a city and he's got his eyes focused on being Governor in 2011. With the demand on his time to run his campaign, that should reduce his attention to L.A. to 0%.

I;ve lost track, depression is a bad thing. After the elections I just went into a funk that I couldn't throw. Then I found this website that I thought was saving me, it made me feel better for a while, but I stopped keeping track of the minutes adding up while I was there. Now I'm still depressed and my credit cards are maxed. These people will say anything to keep you online.

As Reality Rears It's Head
Am I surprised? Not at all. That it started so quickly did.
As I've been cruising around the web the last couple of days I've noticed a consistant theme t coming out of the Obambi camp and the Dhimmi Congresscritters..."We may not be able to deliver what we promised."
Let's start with the President-elect.

No deduction for research? How do they plan on getting companies to invest in developing all those new green energy systems?

And just for grins and giggles, let's not forget out esteemed Goddard Institute for Space Studies announcement that last month was the warmest October on record.
Really? Turns out they don't have, nor can they guarantee that they can get accurate figures to punch into their computers to predict the weather. What do they do, they reuse old data or just make up what they beleive it should be. Even in the face of facts that counter what they "feel".

The error was so glaring that when it was reported on the two blogs - run by the US meteorologist Anthony Watts and Steve McIntyre, the Canadian computer analyst who won fame for his expert debunking of the notorious “hockey stick” graph - GISS began hastily revising its figures. This only made the confusion worse because, to compensate for the lowered temperatures in Russia, GISS claimed to have discovered a new “hotspot” in the Arctic - in a month when satellite images were showing Arctic sea-ice recovering so fast from its summer melt that three weeks ago it was 30 per cent more extensive than at the same time last year.
They lie, then when caught, make up a new lie, only to be caught again. Management at GISS needs to go now!

Obambi is not a good closer. At first I was wondering why there was such a big push from his campaign to vote early!!! Get your vote in now!!! Don't wait!!!
As was shown in the primaries, Teh One almost let Hillary pull it out at the end. It's happening again. Obambi was up 16 points last week and now with just 5 days left, McVain has closed to about 2 points (within the margin of error).
There are quite a few things that could have caused this.
The shackles being taken of Sarah Palin and letting her do what the VP nominee is suppose to do, challenge the other side.
Maybe "Joe the Plumber" struck a chord with some younger people just starting out and do not appreciate the message of "If you make too much more than everyone else, WE will take that "extra" money and give it to someone who didn't feel like working as hard as you...and where that line of "too much" is is in doubt. It seems to get lower as time moves on, 250K, 200K, 150k...where's it going to settle?
I've heard that these numbers have been out there all the time, they just didn't specify which particular tax classification they were using. These are the guys who we expect to state our goals to other countries. There can be no doubt about what you're saying when dealing with foreign countries. Obambi can't count on the press digging them out or hiding what they said in those circumstances, and he's got to keep in mind, his VP would be "Mr. Gafftastic".
Personally, I beleive that the earlier polls were completely made up (i.e. weighted on bad data), the MSM held out as long as they could with polls shifted to the Dems, to discourage the Right, that they will look like complete idiots if the vote runs closer to where it stands now. If they stuck with the 16 point lead for Teh One up to Monday, and the popular vote ends up 46/48 either way, any believability in fairness would be proven even to the densest among us.
The votes that went in early missed all the info that comes out in the last week. A lot of it is BS, but some of it is when the candidates slip and say what they didn't want to let out yet. I have to wonder about those who voted weeks ago wish they could have that vote back?

ACORNholed
How ACORN keeps getting grants to register voters is beyond me. Every election they have been involved in they have been charged with filing false registrations, 1,000's of them. This time, no difference. They are under investigation in 15 states, all of them a battleground state that will probably decided which way the election tips.
Every year it's the same excuse of it's just a "few" bad apples and they, themselves point out some of the shady looking ones. I don't buy it any more, and this year more than any other. They point out enough to look like they're policing themselves, but while they get the county boards of election looking here at a few dozen "questionable" registrations, they shove through 100's over there.
It looks like a scheme to just overwhelm the system during the last few weeks and that there is no way for the states to comply. If(?)the investigations continue past November and it's found out that 1000's of people voted twice or voted that shouldn't have and the final race is close, how legitimate can the elections be?
I fear the next month because of this and a topic that my friend Blackiswhite is covering on his blog. Berg v. Obama Update.

Blue State?
Yeah I live in Kalifornia and I hate the political scene here, but in spite of what everything you hear and/or think about us, there is a significant number of people living here that are conservative. When you get out of the cities along the coast and into reality, the state becomes very red. (I swear the MSM made the Republicans red just to piss us off) Look at this county map of the state.
I really think that proximity to the ocean does something to your brain unless you're very careful.

Housecleaning
Just goofing today.
Did some housecleaning on this site. Had some things that were driving me crazy, so I figured out how to fix them. Nothing anyone is going notice but me, but every time I ran into these little glitches I'd just get a little angrier about not catching them before it got stuck in here.
I wanted to customize my header with a Pic...Text...Pic, but it got to complicated for me to work on today.
I've added a poll to the sidebar. I'll update when I feel like it.
Four and a half weeks until the damn election. I know how I want to vote, I could just go absentee, but that wouldn't shut up the talking heads on TV. I can't get away from it.
I have listened to the debates and will try to catch the last two, but that will be just to see if either of our esteemed Presidential nominees manages to screw up bad enough to flush his chance (I can hope can't I...leave me something to live for!).
I'm wondering that if McCain loses, if Palin will be around in 2012. A combo of Palin and Jindal might not be a bad ticket. Even if McCain wins Palin/Jindal '12 wouldn't be bad.

Why I'm So Damn Sick of the Elections
The primaries ran what? About 3 years? If it was a strategy to make the populace just bore and sick of the whole thing, it seems to have worked with me.
I decided how I was going to vote at the end of the conventions, and now I just wish we could cast our vote and get the thing over with.
For the last couple of days I have been listening to the Dhimicrats gloat over how bad the economy is and how we can't afford 4 more years of the policies that got us into this shit.
They just forget to mention the facts behind the collapse of Bear Sterns and the collapse and bailout of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and AIG.
What was the Bush policy on Fannie and Freddie? (From the NY Times Sept. 11, 2003)
Whoa!!! We can't have that! Imagine the nerve of trying to rein in a runaway train 5 years before it hits the wall. Surely the Dhimicrats foresaw the problem also.
Either they really didn't see it coming, or they were just using their usual playbook and giving "free" money to people to win the next election. Whichever it was, can we afford four years of a continuation of this type of planning and policy?
It goes back way further, back to our old buddy Clinton. (from IBD)
The Demorats set it up in the '90's and when Bush tried to correct it, they told Bush he was racist, denying affordable housing to the poor and minorities. Now that their homes are foreclosed and their credit is fubar, I bet they'd really thank their protectors on the left side of the aisle, not to mention how trilled I am to pay part of the mortgage they never should have had in the first place.
When they raise my taxes to pay this fiasco off, there is a good chance I may not be able to meet my obligations, so the situation won't be getting better. It'll most likely get worse being we're already committed to the bailouts.
On top of this, WTF is the gov't doing pledging to cover housing for a month for the people of Texas that were displaced by the hurricane? Since I was born, I've heard the rest of the U.S. bitch at me about if I live in an earthquake zone and get hit, I deserve the grief. We get a quake that does damage about every 10 years. You asshats that live in hurricane and tornado country get nailed how many time EVERY year? And then go right back into the same place and rebuild, but don't worry, we'll bail you out again next year.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.
The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.
The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt — is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

I had a relatively slow day at work today and got my project done early, so I was able to watch the second half of my RAIDERS get their ass kicked, 24-0, by the (OH, this hurts!!) Arizona Cardinals. So I ended up cruising Fox News and ran across some interesting stuff.

Some have relatives living them and some are investments and some are places they spend part of the year. It was a gotcha moment, If he gave the number he and Cindy use, he's hiding information (or got Alzheimer). If he had given the correct number, he's accused of being rich and exploiting the little people. I'm still trying to figure out why it is so evil for honest people to be rich.
I think McCain's situation is better than Obama's, where his deal for his MANSION is worked out by a guy that is so crocked that his ass is in jail now.

Better they deal with their unemployed than us. Funny thing about being here illegally, for all the safety nets provided, when there is a downturn in the economy, unemployment insurance isn't one of them, although I'm sure Congress will get right on that over site.
Jeez! No jobs and they go home voluntarily? Guess we'll have to cut back on the order for all those buses we ordered to deport them.
I am so sorry that Senor Ruiz is disturbed by this trend, and G-d am I tired of this "families torn apart" meme. If I break the law just bad enough to be deported...to jail...my family would be torn apart also. Does that mean I get off?

Not likely. When damn near every policy they put forward restricts or flies in the face of religion, it's hard to take them seriously.
They may have been going after, but the peons ain't buying.
First off, what happened to that separation of Church and State thing? Invocations at a political event? G-d, they don't want anyone to forget they are all on that faith thing, opening AND closing.
We may be religious, but we ain't stoopid. There are readin's in the Good Book about those who will try to use The Word agin ya.
Ah!! There's the rub. They can invite us in all they want, but just talking the talk doesn't make them one of us, and when I know you're going to propose legislation that is against everything I believe in, your pretty words don't convince me.
Concern about faith by the Dhimi's is a lie. I think they honestly beleive that we are like their other followers and will listen to what they say today without looking at what they did yesterday or plan to do tomorrow.

DALLAS — Illegal immigrants are returning home to Mexico in numbers not seen for decades — and the Mexican government may have to deal with a crush on its social services and lower wages once the immigrants arrive.
The Mexican Consulate's office in Dallas is seeing increasing numbers of Mexican nationals requesting paperwork to go home for good, especially parents who want to know what documentation they'll need to enroll their children in Mexican schools.

Advocates for immigrants are disturbed by the trend. Albert Ruiz, an organizer for the League of United Latin American Citizens, agrees that more undocumented immigrants are going home — but says families are being torn apart in the process.

"So the mother is saying we should return home with the breadwinner of the family to Mexico, and the children are saying, I don't want to leave, I'm a U.S. citizen, I don't know that country," said Ruiz.

For the first time the Democratic National Convention has a “Faith Caucus.” In fact, “faith” will have a higher profile at the Democratic National Convention than it has ever had before. The reason? The Democratic Party has been aggressively going after the “God vote” since at least 2004.[emphasis: mine]

And reaching out they are. On Sunday an “Interfaith Gathering”, as mentioned before, will officially launch the Democratic National Convention. All the major religions will be represented: Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists. Daughtry says (on the DNC’s Web site) that the Interfaith Gathering is the best way to “kick off a week-long celebration to showcase our Party’s nominee, our strength, our diversity and our shared values. “
In addition to the Interfaith Gathering on Sunday, there’ll be two Faith Caucus meetings, one titled “How an Obama Administration Will Engage People of Faith,” the other “Getting Out the Faith Vote”. Plus, one member of the clergy from a different faith will open and close (give the invocation and benediction) each of the DNC’s evening programs.

But I guess regardless of whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, faith is a matter of function, not form. Every day all of us are walking, talking billboards for what we believe. And our voting choices reflect those beliefs — they also reflect what we believe about how we should live and the way in which we should treat our fellow human beings. But the problem with politics is that even though government can create policies to ease or increase our burdens, ultimately policies can’t save our souls. But sometimes parties and politicians campaign as if they can. And that certainly makes any election…. very interesting.
